December News from the Chi Family!

2018 may be winding down, but the Chi family is showing no signs of stopping. As we end this year with so much to celebrate, we wish only more good things and simchot in the coming year. So let’s check out all the accomplishments and news for December.
A great SIT and a smart cookie- Andy Siegel was inducted into the National Honors Society. Way to go Andy!
It’s been a good month for Lindsey McFadden. First Lindsey was recognized as an Outstanding Student Trainer at Stevenson, where she received the Big Gun award. Then Lindsey was accepted to Tulane, where she is heading next fall.
Speaking of college acceptances and commitments, Camryn Friedman is heading to the Ohio State University next fall, while Suzi Delay is heading to the University of Kansas. Congrats to both you and best of luck!
While those ladies are heading to college, we have some recent graduates to congratulate in Cat Warren and Sam Brockelbank. Mazel tov to both of you!
She may not be able to show it at Chi’s Got Talent, due to the heat of summer, but Lauren Friduss is a pretty good ice skater and was selected to perform in Northbrook on Ice. Congrats Lauren!
Max Rattner is more than just a good counselor. He’s also now a Make It Miami Honors Breakfast Ambassador at Miami University. Way to go Max!
It’s been a busy b’nai mitzvah season and we are so proud of Jordan Hecker, Shirley Hudak, Naomi Gross, Sam Dugan, Jaden Roth, Dylan Kaufman, Brett Yuter and Matthew Paraboschi on their recent b’nai mitzvot. We heard you all did a great job on the bimah and we wish you a hearty mazel tov!
We want to wish a big Mazel Tov to Savanna Biagioni (Rowan) and her new husband, A.J. Biagioni. We wish you two a lifetime of love and happiness.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unless it’s an accomplishment like Emma Grisar being selected to Honors Orchestra at her school. Way to go Emma!
We have another Chi driver on the road, as Noa Zadik got her driver’s license. Drive safely Noa.
We are so incredibly proud of Miles Evans! Miles, a proud participant in our Keshet Inclusion & Avodah program, was hired for his first job atBlackberry Market Cafe in Glen Ellyn. We hope to come visit and see you at work Miles!
Bump, set, spike. Those are three words we hear a lot as the SITs practice for their game, and the SITs of 2022 may have a secret weapon in training. Sarina Levy and her volleyball team finished the season in 2nd place, which is pretty impressive. Keep up the hard work Sarina.
Have you noticed the great art at Northbrook Court recently? If not, you should, as local kid’s art was selected to be on display, including a piece by our own Louie Shaffer.
The Blackhawks season may not be where many hade hope it would be, but Casey Rategan and his team can’t say the same. Casey and his team recently came in first in the Chicago Cup Thanksgiving Hockey Tournament. Nice job!
It’s great when hard work pays off and pay off it did for Zach Klein and Elijah Klein, as Palmach AZA took first place at BBYO’s Regional Invite Convention. Congrats to both of you and all of Palmach AZA!
The SIT ladies of 2010 really took “keep the flame burning” to heart, as they reunited to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah together. Thanks for the great photo Danielle Poteshman, Sarah Garr, Abby Simon, Jamie Horwitz, Jori Wineburgh, Emily Rodheim, Becky Gurson, Jackie Shaps, Alexa Winestock, Annie Echales, Sophie Gottlieb and (SIT of 2012) Sara Wineburgh.
Have news to share? We want to hear all about it so be sure to submit it here.
