New Wellness Initiatives at Camp Chi for Summer 2024

We’re excited to announce a host of new initiatives at Camp Chi, under the leadership of our new Director of Wellness, Dr. Laura Wood, and Carrie Ross, LCSW, the Supervisor of Mental Wellness. Together, they bring a fresh perspective to our steadfast commitment to mental, emotional, and spiritual growth at camp. Guided by the Jewish values of Kavod (Respect) and Chesed (Kindness), this summer we’re weaving mental wellness more deeply into the fabric of camp life, offering a seamless blend of activities and support designed to foster respect, kindness, understanding, and inclusion. From the outset with our ‘All About Me’ camper forms to continuous check-ins with biweekly ‘Happiness Sheets’ as well as cabin times devoted to wellness and personalized check-ins, we’re ensuring every camper’s needs are heard and met.
Every village this summer will have a wellness person devoted to being with them in the milieu, supporting a holistic approach through conversation, creative arts, and animal assisted support. We’re dedicated to creating a space where every camper can explore and grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, ensuring they have the most enriching camp experience possible.
