What Makes Shabbat at Camp Chi Special?

Shabbat is many people’s favorite times of the week. During the fall, winter, and spring, Shabbat means a day of rest- no school and no work for most. It offers a time to be with those you love and to reconnect spiritually while recharging your batteries. What’s the best part of Shabbat? That is different for each person- some choose the challah and some the candles, some the prayer and some the change of pace, some the togetherness and some the alone time. All those and more can make Shabbat during the year special.
Over the summer, Shabbat is also a day of rest, but Shabbat at camp is something truly unique. What makes Shabbat at Camp Chi so special? Is it Schmooze? Shuk? The matzah ball soup? A favorite melody or prayer at services? Song Session? Cinnamon Rolls on Saturday?
There’s no right answer, but we want yours! Our Shabbat message each week will feature what you believe makes Shabbat at Camp Chi Special. Bonus points if you send your Shabbat photo to us too. And double bonus points if you celebrate Shabbat with anyone in the Camp Chi Family during the year and send us a photo.
