News from the Chi Family

This is an exciting month for us. March brings the official start of Spring and the march towards summer continues. Just as important though, it gives us another opportunity to celebrate YOU and your accomplishments. With a plethora of college decisions, some cute new babies to welcome to the Chi Family, and so much more, we have a lot of celebrating to do. Join us in congratulating everyone below!

We’d love to celebrate you too- if you have news to contribute, please submit it here.

There are weddings in the future for some lucky Chi Alumni! Congrats to Hannah Altman (SIT 2012) and Harry Owen, and Jen Gelman (SIT 2010) and Jay Solway on their recent engagements! We wish you all nothing but happiness and love.

Camp Chi was well represented in Stevenson High School’s Mr. SHS competition this year. While on Zoom this year, the contestants including Blake Finkel and Jake Leyderman impressed us all with their talents, smart and funny answers, as well as how well dressed they were. In the end Jake was crowned both Mr. Congeniality, recognized for his positive attitude and helpfulness, and Mr. SHS. Congratulations Jake!

We told you it was coming last month and now here it is. The new single from Marc Luban and Spencer Sher, Little Wave, was released just a few weeks ago and we love it. We know you will too! Give it a listen here.

Longtime Chi camper Jack Zislis recently earned first place in Illinois for DECA business club and is heading to Internationals! Congrats Jack- we hope to have more good news in future months from you!

Chi Alumna Rachel Hirsh was recently named Director of Campus Life at Illinois Institute of Technology and we couldn’t be prouder!

Speaking of proud, we are beaming with pride for Zoe Cohen, Dylan Davis and Samantha Block who recently celebrated their b’nai mitzvot! We are so proud of you!

The Camp Chi Family is growing! Brittany Abramowicz and Josh Cahan welcomed Maya Goldie (featured above). Also, Ashleigh Davis and Lou Davis welcomed Anakiwa Amo. We can’t wait to meet these two cuties in person when it is safe to do so!

The dynasty continues as Carmel High School’s Girls Swimming and Diving Team, featuring our own Hailey Fox, claimed their 35th consecutive championship title. Keep it up!

On a similar but drier note, Jonathan Fine and the Buffalo Grove High School cheerleading team earned their 3rd conference championship. Nice work!

The college decision date is looming ahead, but we have many eager students who have made big decisions recently. We are so proud of Jack Kanter & Blake Lewis (University of Iowa), Tahlia Freedman (University of Arizona), Zach Kutnick (University of Michigan), Hannah Krengel (University of Wisconsin, Madison), Blake Finkel (Tulane University), Megan Hesser (Indiana University), and Casey Weiner (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). We wish all of you nothing but success!

If those future college students need a role model for success they can look to our own Jeremy Stein who earned his place on the Dean’s List at Miami University of Ohio recently. Good work Jeremy!

And one soon to be college graduate just can’t get enough. Carly Klein who is graduating from Pratt College soon will be continuing there to pursue her MPS in Creative Arts Therapy. Congratulations Carly!

Have news to share? We want to hear all about it, so be sure to submit it here.
