The Cove is Getting Upgraded

By Camp Chi
paddle boats and inflatables in lake
Camp, Chi Centennial

The Camp Chi Cove brings back fond memories for most people who have spent time at camp. By day, it is a hub of activity with campers playing in the sand, adventuring on the “high seas” on boats, and enjoying the variety of inflatables, among other things. By night, the quiet lakefront is an ideal spot for stargazing and  bonfires. Who can forget the magical environment created each session for Chi Burning at the cove.

We have great news – the Camp Chi Cove is getting an upgrade this summer thanks to the generosity of the Topfer/Vozar Family in support of the Camp Chi Centennial Campaign. For our 100th summer, the lakefront will be named the Topfer/Vozar Family Cove, with many improvements planned. On the lawn, with beautiful views of the lake, we will expand and upgrade the fire circle  to accommodate more people  at a campfire at once. On the beach, we will install a new net, court perimeter and scoreboard on the volleyball court. And campers will  utilize new paddle board and pedal boats on Blass Lake, and we’ll have new boat racks that will help keep our boats in the best condition possible.

Joining the Topfer/Vozar Family in their generosity is the Putterman Family, who have also contributed to the Camp Chi Centennial Campaign with a gift in support of upgrading the gazebo that sits by the cove entrance. The gazebo will now have lighting, permanent grills, and power that will allow us to convert the Cove Lawn into a hangout space for cookouts, open mic nights, and so much more.

We are incredibly grateful to these families and all other generous contributors to the Camp Chi Centennial Capital Campaign, for these much-needed upgrades to the campus. Our campers and staff will enjoy these spaces for the 100th summer and for many summers to come!

Are you interested in leaving your mark on Camp Chi this year, its 100th summer? Is there a spot in camp that is near and dear to your heart? You can support Camp Chi’s Centennial Campaign here or contact us anytime at info@campchi.com.
