Packing for Camp Chi: Your Complete Guide!

Summer 2025 is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking about one of the most exciting parts of getting ready — packing! Whether you’re a first-time camper or a seasoned pro, we’ve gathered our best tips and resources to make packing simple, organized, and stress-free.
Start with the Packing List
The Camp Chi Packing List is your ultimate roadmap. It covers everything your camper will need for an amazing summer — from daily basics like t-shirts and swimsuits to specialty items like costumes for theme days and white clothes for Shabbat.
➡️ Pro Tip: Print the list and check off items as you go!
️ Label Everything
With so many campers, labeling is key to making sure everything comes home at the end of the summer.
Options we love:
Iron-on or stick-on labels
Laundry-safe Sharpies
➡️ Bonus: Order labels now so they arrive in time for packing! (We love LabelDaddy, Mabel’s Labels)
Pack with Your Camper
Involving your camper in the packing process helps them know where their things are and makes the transition to camp smoother.
Break in New Shoes Early
If you’re buying new shoes, especially hiking boots for PNW campers, make sure your camper wears them around before camp starts to prevent blisters.
Pro Packing Tips
Duffle bags, not trunks! Soft-sided duffle bags are easier to store in cabins.
Use packing cubes or gallon-size Ziplocs to organize outfits and keep things neat. 6 cubes should do the trick. cubby dimensions: 26″ wide, 11″ deep and 11.5” tall (the full cubby).
Label toiletries and pack in a shower caddy for easy transport to and from the bathrooms/showers.
Send extra socks and underwear. Trust us — they’ll need them!
❤️ Comforts of Home
It’s normal for campers to miss home a little. Packing a few personal touches like a small stuffed animal, a favorite book, or a few printed family photos can help ease the transition.
