100 Years of Impact
Over the past 12 months, we’ve shared many updates on the 100th summer and reflections on the past hundred years through our blog series focused on our Centennial. As our big birthday year winds down, and our team gets fully settled from one of the most successful, albeit challenging, summers we’ve ever had, there’s one last topic we wanted to focus on.
There are countless things we’ve experienced and encountered through the years. So many campers and staff that have come and gone through our lives. We’ve made memories we think about daily, and others that slip back into our minds after years of not thinking about them simply by hearing a song or seeing a photo. Throughout the 100 years, we’ve added spaces and activities that have moved camp forward, and the subtracted others that have done the same (did you know that Camp Chi had a petting zoo at one point). Each of us knows that Camp Chi is a special place, and for most of us the significance of it does not have to be overstated. It is something we understand so deeply in our core that we don’t have the need to express it in words.
What it really all comes down to is impact. Camp Chi has impacted every single person that has ever come here in a unique way, and vice versa. No two people have the same experience at Chi, and yet it has been a home away from home for generations of campers. Even two people growing up together in the same cabin year after year are impacted in different ways by their camp experiences.
We all know the ways Camp Chi has impacted us individually, and to close out our Centennial Celebration, we wanted to ask the Camp Chi Family about the impact Chi has had on them. Whether it was certain people or activities that had the biggest impact on you, the life lessons you learned as you grew older through camp, or the memories that you continue to reflect on in your life outside of Chi.
We want to thank every person who has ever been to Camp Chi, no matter the reason or length. Every person has had an impact on who we have been as a camp over the past 100 years. We look forward to the people who will be here for the next 100, and the impact they will have on all of us. As we enter our next century, all we can say is, “let’s go ‘round one more time.”

You can write a sentence or a story, and even add a photo if you so wish. The important thing is that we would love to hear from the entire Camp Chi Family!
