Big Changes Coming to Camp Chi: See What’s New!

By Camp Chi
Camp

Many people think of Camp Chi over the winter as quiet and empty. And, while we miss all of our campers and staff there are many projects currently underway up in Lake Delton! Here is a breakdown of a few new updates and projects that will be ready for this summer.

We are winding down on our Noar overhaul. Currently under development are our 4 new private bathrooms and showers attached to the back Noar bathroom. In addition to this, we are putting the finishing touches on the 6 new large cabins each with expanded porches. While we still have a few more projects on the docket for next year in Noar, the change is remarkable and we can’t wait for everyone to see this newest addition to our teen village!

Back in Perlstein the Noar Dining Hall renovation is in full swing! We will have all new floors, windows, lighting, and more so that on rainy days we have a new and improved space for campers to use. In addition to this we will be able to bring back more offseason Chi retreats in this great new space. This is a long time coming and we are so excited to see the finished product.

The commons pavilion was started last summer, and we are excited to announce that it will be fully operational for this upcoming summer. It will be complete with lighting, seating, and plenty of outdoor games. Including cement corn hole, connect four, and more!

If you ask anyone at camp what their favorite part of camp is, there is good chance they will say shabbat. Everyone loves all of camp getting together and celebrating as a community. However, no one enjoys sitting on the amphitheater benches. However, I am happy to announce that those benches have left the property! As soon as the ground thaws we will be replacing them with brand new seating with a higher capacity and much better longevity! We can’t wait for everyone to see them on the first shabbat this summer!

And while all of these projects are new and exciting, we know that campers look forward to their specialties! Two of our most popular this past summer were pickleball and waterski! We are excited to announce that both are getting a face lift and some additions! For Pickleball we are building 8 new courts this summer so no camper will have to wait their turn, there will be space for everyone! These will go well with our brand new selection of pickleball paddles this summer! The ski docks are another exciting project. Not only do we have brand new lifts to go on our ski docks, we also bought a brand new boat. This is our first brand new boat in nearly 15 years, and we can’t wait for campers to take it for a spin. The best part of this new boat is that it sits 15 people, so an entire cabin will be able to go out on the water together if they would like!

We can’t wait for you to see all of this and more this summer!
