Camp Chi Staff Travel the Globe

Camp

Ely, Rachel, and Sam have their passports ready and will be traveling overseas this month! Rachel will be traveling to England, Sam will be going to Israel, and Ely will be going to both England and Israel. All will be meeting and training with our staff who will be at camp this summer. Sam will be working together with our Israeli staff also known as shlichim (emissaries) to teach them about camp and start working on our Israeli cultural and Judaic programming. So far Camp Chi has hired staff from 21 different countries including Israel, England, Mexico, Australia, Germany, Canada and Austria, just to name a few. For the first time Chi has a staff member coming from the tiny country of Isle of Man!

With travel restrictions lifted, the full-time team is able to go abroad again to meet with international staff. Chi searches for the best of the best staff to work at camp, and that’s why we go to meet with them abroad. Camp Chi works with staffing agencies who specialize in summer camps to bring us the best candidates out there, and who align with our core values of Community (Kehilah), Kindness (Chesed) and Respect (Kavod). Our international staff work in various areas around camp, from the stables, to athletics, in the kitchen, ropes, housekeeping and more! The Chi staff is a melting pot of cultures that can’t be found elsewhere. Our campers (and American staff) learn so much from our international staff about their home countries and cultures that they might not have the opportunity to do so before. We can’t wait to introduce you to our 2023 international staff and give you an update on our final country count.
