Chi Does Good for JDAIM

By Camp Chi
Chi Does Good

The Camp Chi Family has a reputation for being generous, charitable, and loving. There are so many wonderful causes the Camp Chi Family is invested in, and we are so proud of the incredible work everyone does each day. February is Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance & Inclusion Month (#JDAIM), so for this month’s Chi Does Good, we wanted to highlight the work one family is doing for one of their own.

Ori and Aish Nussbaum are Camp Chi campers, and their little sister, Libi, has a disability called Williams Syndrome. The Nussbaums are involved in the biennial Williams Syndrome Convention, which happens to be taking place in the Chicagoland area this summer! The convention is an awesome gathering of kids, teens, and adults with Williams Syndrome, as well as their friends and families. The Nussbaum’s know first-hand how important and impactful an event like the Williams Syndrome Convention is, so they decided to take their participation a step further.

With some creative thinking and a fun-loving attitude, they decided to hold a Zoom Magic Show Fundraiser! The Nussbaums had seen magician Tricky Tim perform and remembered the kids laughing non-stop throughout the whole performance. They realized that having fun is a great way to spread the word and help raise funds for the Williams Syndrome Convention, so they setup a special performance with Tricky Tim. Plus, the whole event is taking place on Zoom, so it’s safe and engaging for the whole family!

The Zoom Magic Show is Saturday, February 26th at 6:00 pm CST. It costs $25 per household with the proceeds going to the Williams Syndrome Convention. The Nussbaums set an ambitious goal of raising $7,500 for the cause. We are hoping that you’ll be able to help them reach that goal and you’ll have a good time while doing so.

You can register for the event here. We can’t wait to see everyone at the Zoom Magic Show, and we know the Camp Chi Family is going to come out in waves to support another amazing cause!
