December 2023 News from the Chi Family

By Camp Chi
News from the Chi Family

We are so happy for our Camp Chi community who has shared major life milestones, simchas, welcoming future Chi campers into their world, and reunions of camp friends. Send Sam an email at sisenstein@jccchicago.org to get your news into the next Flame!

Jarett Fersten (SIT 2018) Graduated from University of Florida, Cum Laude in 3 years and is completing his Masters program as a grad student at UF. Mazel tov Jarett!

Huge congrats to Miles Evan. Miles was featured in this article in Glancer Magazine. Miles also celebrated his 5-year work anniversary at Blackberry Market in Glen Ellyn on December 4.

Mazel tov to Jacob Bikshorn (SIT 2008), and wife Rachel on the birth of their baby girl on 10/18! Her name is Noa.

Congratulations to Polly Cheesman, who was Keshet’s site director at Chi last summer, and her husband Randy, on the birth of their baby boy Randy Francis McKenzie.

Coming together must have been in the air as two different SIT classes got together for a little reunion.
A group of SITs of 2010 got together for an early Hanukkah celebration!

A few SITs of 2000 gathered to celebrate Hanukkah and all the light we’ve shared together throughout the years. In a time of so much change, unknown, and difficulties we are all faced with in the US, Israel, and everywhere in between, we are stronger together. They shared stories, successes, challenges, hope and love for each other and the Camp Chi community. We keep the Flame burning and we’re so grateful for the lifetime friendships we’ve kindled together and with so many others in this special part of our life, Camp Chi. People come into our lives for a reason, season or lifetime. The SITs of 2000 are all there for each other for a lifetime.

SITs of 2000: Debbie Brin-Leon, Jamie Fintz, Aly Goldman, Marnie Rudick, Jessica Topel, Jen Ryan, Erin Waitz
