Hanukkah Highlights

By Camp Chi
Events

It was so meaningful to come together as a community and share in the lighting of the Hanukiah! We need more joy and light in the world, and what better way to do it than with our Camp Chi family. Hanukkah is the celebration of the miracle of the light that lasted, and the rededication of the ancient Jewish Temple. The idea of the everlasting flame is a theme that is central to Camp Chi. We say, “Keep the Flame Burning” as a way to remember our summers at camp and the close of the summer with the Chi Burning. This time of year, we light our own small flames to remember the miracle of the oil that lasted and how strong the Jewish peoples’ faith was thousands of years ago, and still today.

Thank you to all the families who came out to our First Night, First Light Hanukkah celebration! We had over 60 people join at the Revere in the Lustbader center, for candle lighting, cookie decorating, and arcade games! It wouldn’t be a Chi program without smores, which we were able to do just outside the doors. It was so great to see all of our campers from Summer 2023, and even some brand new campers who have not yet been to Chi and Summer 2024 will be their first! Happy Hanukkah Everyone!
