Our Inspiring Young Leaders: 18 Under 18 Honorees

By Camp Chi
18 under 18
Camp

Every year Springboard hosts an evening to honor an impressive group of 18 members of the Chicagoland Jewish community that are under 18 years old. After a series of nominations, applications, and interviews these teens are selected “based on applicants’ embodiment of at least one of the 18 Under 18 Core Characteristics: inclusion, tzedakah and volunteer work, Jewish learning, Jewish involvement, and leadership.”

Last Monday evening, April 16, at the Botanic Gardens a group of incredible young men and women took the stage to become this year’s 18 Under 18 honorees. The honorees all come from different backgrounds and represented a number of Jewish agencies and organizations. Everyone in attendance was inspired to hear about the work these young people do for our Jewish community.

Camp Chi is proud of each honoree, all of whom are talented, hard-working, intelligent and well-rounded individuals, but we are beaming with extra pride at three of these special individuals who come from the Camp Chi Family- Celia Giles, Abbey Finn, and AJ Katzenstein. We are all so proud of you, the work you have done and the commitment you have shown to your Jewish community. We cannot wait to see you all at Camp Chi this summer!
