January 2021 News from the Camp Chi Family
Happy New Year Camp Chi! As we counted down and put 2020 behind us for all the craziness it brought, we’ve seen that 2021 will have its own kind of crazy. But just as we did in 2020, we are focusing on the positive, and you provide so much of it! Many of us welcomed 2021 with a celebration, however different than usual. Many of us had streamers, confetti, raised a glass to the new year, and celebrated with those we love. We ask you to join us in a similar celebration for all the happenings in the Camp Chi Family! Please join us in wishing everyone below a hearty mazel tov!
We’d love to celebrate you too- if you have news to contribute, please submit it here.
It’s been a busy b’nai mitzvah year so far and we’re only a few weeks in. Mazel tov to Owen Maman, Paul Watson and Tyler Coslow on their recent b’nai mitzvot. We heard you all did wonderfully!
The Camp Chi Family is growing as we’ve got some newborns to welcome! Monica (Shifman) Pejic and Maki Pejic welcomed Mila Isabella Pejic, Rachel Fine and Joey Fine welcomed Marlee Rivka, and Lauren (Cohen) Gentles and Charlie Gentles welcomed Henry Phillip. We cannot wait to meet these little ones when it is safe to do so!
We are so happy for Martha Levin, who recently retired after many years in nursing and healthcare.
The holiday season brought some in the Chi Family weddings to plan as Libby Craig and Zack Willard got engaged, as did Sam Brocklebank and Emily “Tink” Roscoe. Mazel tov to all of you!
Speaking of weddings, we are so happy for Mara (Rubin) Bernstein and Richard Bernstein who recently tied the knot. We wish you nothing but happiness!
College decisions keep coming in and we are very proud of Kelly Kogen who will be attending Elmhurst University in the Fall. Meanwhile, the freshman class at Indiana University will have a lot of Camp Chi faces in it as Jordan Levitt, Cate Jacobson, Nathan Geyer, Zach Ohrn, and Jessie Berger will all be Hoosiers in the fall.
At the other end of the educational journeys, we have some recent graduates to congratulate. We are beaming with pride for Molly Jacobs, Rebecca Doman and Rachel Wurtzel! Molly graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a BFA in Art Education, a minor in Art History, and a certificate in Arts Integration as a three-time ArtsECO Fellow winner and commencement honors. Rebecca graduated cum laude from the University of Central Florida Rosen School of Hospitality. And Rachel is now Dr. Wurtzel as she earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis.
Have news to share? We want to hear all about it, so be sure to submit it here.
