New Things at Camp This Summer
Camp
Camp Chi didn’t become the greatest overnight camp in the world by staying the same for the past 100+ years. Instead, each and every year camp continues to grow, improve, and add on new and exciting pieces that keeps Camp Chi a leader in the field. This year is no different! We are so excited to share with you all many of the exciting new improvements that will be made at camp this summer!
- New Inflatable at Cove
This summer we will be adding a brand-new inflatable to the cove, we can’t wait to see campers jumping and exploring it this summer! - New Sailboats
While it has been a few years since we were able to offer sailing, we are exciting to be getting a new fleet of sailboats this summer where campers can learn to sail the open lake, while learning how to control both the mainsail and the jib! - New Ski Boat
While we haven’t found a new boat yet, we have been going to boat shows, stopping at dealerships, and are looking for a brand-new ski boat that we can use this summer. The boats we are looking at have surf tabs, and we hope to be able to add wake surfing this summer in addition to wakeboarding, knee boarding, and water skiing. - Golf Program
New for this summer will be a brand-new golf program! This will include at 9-hole mini golf course, a large putting and chipping green, and one 130-foot golf hole with multiple tee off locations for campers to try. We are so excited for campers to be able to learn this fun new hobby! - New Pavilion at the Commons, and a Full Commons Renovation
This summer the Commons will have a full makeover! Through a generous donation, we are adding a brand-new large pavilion that will be fully lit up, will light up the rest of the commons, and will provide enough space for an entire village to hang out in at once! It will also have a projector screen for outdoor movie nights. We are not stopping there, the Common’s gaga pit will be fully rebuilt, archery will get a full makeover, we will be resurfacing the Commons black top, we are installing a series of new cement backyard games, introducing a new fire pit, and more! - New Wellness program
This year Camp Chi is rebuilding our wellness team to include 6 new wellness interns. These are masters level students who will be embedding themselves with each village to help with cabin dynamics, mental health support, and to make sure that everyone is feeling comfortable at camp this summer. We are very excited to see this new program in action! - Noar Updates
While Noar got a major update last summer with an updated dining hall, deck, and bathrooms, we are taking it one step further for this summer! Six of the old “L” shaped cabins have been torn down, moved to the outer ring of Noar, making more space for activities on the inside, and are being rebuilt as brand-new cabins. This will both create a better living environment for campers and staff, but will also change the feel of the entire village! Not only this, but attached to the back bathrooms we’re adding in a series of private bathrooms and showers so that each camper in Noar can feel comfortable and safe at Camp Chi! We can’t wait for you to see year 2 of 3 in the Noar renovation!
We are working on many other exciting new additions and cannot wait to share more with you all soon!
