November 2021 News from the Camp Chi Family

By Camp Chi
News from the Chi Family

November is an action-packed month this year, full of exciting events and holidays. Thanksgiving and Hanukkah are right around the corner, and so are JCC Chicago and Our Hanukkah Celebration Events. We also have a Toy Drive running all month long, not to mention the annual CHIrt Day happening tomorrow! There’s already so much to celebrate this November, and we’re going to add even more things to be happy about with our November News from the Chi Family! Have news we can share and celebrate together? Submit it here

Many people know Jessie Lankford as a Village Leader, Counselor, SIT of 2011, and our fantastic Summer Program Manager where she works behind the scenes to make sure all the programming runs smoothly. Jessie was also working towards an exciting goal all summer long and is now happy to say that she passed her social work boards and is now a LCSW. Congrats Jessie!

We have a couple of B’nai Mitzvot to introduce to the community. Laney Star, Maia Weissman, Emma Wishnia, Noah Lewis, and Ari Rosenthal all recently took their place on the Bimah. Congratulations to you all!

The roads are getting more crowded as Joey Shaffer recently got his Driving Permit. Drive safely Joey!

Wedding bells are always in the air for the Camp Chi Family. With a string of recent weddings, we’d like to send a huge Mazel Tov to Lindsay Dolan and Austin Crisp, Jakub and Miriam Macho, Trudy Miller Hart and Josh Hart, and Jacob Bikshorn and Rachel Zidar! Wishing you all a lifetime of happiness and love!

Wedding plans are starting for Becky Rudolph was recently became engaged. Congratulations Becky!

Our 2021 Athletics Director, Scott Harris, recently set a record for raising the most amount of money for a philanthropy event for his fraternity. Scott raised $12,000 for The Joy Bidnick Cancer Research Fund. And on top of that, Scott recently became the new Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach at De Soto High School in Kansas. Nice going, Scott!

Have news to share? We want to hear all about it, so be sure to submit it here.
