SIT Program and SIT Director
The SIT program is the heart and soul of Camp Chi. The Staff in Training help make sure that all campers have the best possible summer as they get a look behind the scenes as they take that next step on their Camp Chi journey. This summer we are excited to announce a few aspects of the program that will make sure that the SIT program continues to ‘Keep the Flame Burning’ year after year. First off, we are so excited to announce that our new SIT Director will be AJ Teplinsky. AJ was a camper for many years, a SIT in 2013, and then worked on staff as a counselor, Village Leader, Director of Staff Life, and now as the SIT director! AJ is very passionate about the SIT program and has been thinking about changes and improvements for years waiting for his chance to leave his mark. We can’t wait to see the incredible program that he builds.
In addition to an amazing new SIT Director, we are also making some neat changes to the program that we are very excited about this summer. For one, the lodge in Perlstein will be transformed into a SIT village. This will include living rooms, training spaces, and recreation spaces for the SITs to use. We can’t wait to see all of the new benefits this brings for these SITs of 2024. The SIT’s will also have a chance to explore outside of Camp Chi, as we are bringing back an overnight SIT Trip, outside community service, and some amazing field trips such as the annual SIT trip to Madison.
The SIT’s of 2024 have some amazing opportunities this summer, and we know that they are going to do some amazing things as they transition from campers into future Camp Chi staff.
