Thank You For The Food
At camp we go go go! All day, from wake up to bedtime we are busy with activities, programs and friends. The only way to keep the ruach flowing all day is to stay energized and enjoy the food at camp. Three times a day, we all meet in the dining hall to enjoy a delicious meal. The only possible way to feed all of our amazing campers is to have an equally amazing staff running our kitchen. And we have just that! So, without further adieu, we’d like to introduce you to our 2018 Food Service Staff.
Chi is excited to be working with WolFoods again for our 5th year! Leading our Food Service this year is Tim Delling, who will be here at Chi for his second year in a row. Tim has worked in the food industry for 22 years in countless positions including Line Chef/Catering at Belliceaux, Territory Manager at the US Food Service, General Manager at Sadie May’s Restaurant, General Manager/Executive Chef at Sodexho and Executive Chef at Groovin Gourmets. Campers may recognize Tim as being the runner up in our 2017 4th of July Chi presidential race, or being a Captain Jack Sparrow lookalike. We are thrilled to have Tim back at Chi this summer!
We have a few more returning food service members including Daniel Martin (Production Chef) and Rick McGiver (Special Diet Chef). Rick completed a ServSafe Allergy course and will make sure any of our campers dietary needs are met.
Rounding out the WolFoods team is Taylor Northcutt (Production Chef), Michael Weber (Noar Chef), Ben Agraviador (Baker/Production Support) and Josh Burton (Dining Room Manager). The secret ingredient to the Chi kitchen is our staff members from all over the world who will bring a taste of their culture over to us at Chi. Our Food Service Staff work so hard all summer and will be arriving May 30th to start preparing the kitchen.
There are a couple of traditions we have at Chi on Fridays that are pretty sacred to our campers; pizza for lunch and a delicious dinner for Shabbat. We are so happy to announce we have a new pizza crust this year that is sure to please all. We are also continuing to use Shalom Bakery (everyone’s favorite) as the official Challah supplier of Camp Chi. Friday meals are going to be delicious!
Together with WolFoods, we are continuing to develop healthy and delicious eating options for our campers so they can stay in the best shape and maintain energy all day at camp. Our Food Service Staff are some of the hardest working staff at camp, because they have the important role of feeding every camper and staff member. We cannot wait to try the delicious food they will be making this summer! After you eat it, be sure to say THANK YOU FOR THE FOOD!
