Welcome Britt Velasquez to the Camp Chi Full Time Team!

By Camp Chi
Camp

Britt Velasquez is excited to join the Camp Chi team as the Inclusion Manager! While she may be new to Camp Chi, she is no stranger to camp life. Britt began her camping career in college at YMCA Camp Lakewood, where she started as a cabin counselor, later became the Leadership Development Program Coordinator, and spent her last three years as the camp’s Behavior Specialist.

She earned her degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Adaptive Physical Education from Truman State University and returned to camp to work in their Outdoor Education program. Following her time in residential camping, Britt transitioned into teaching in Special Education classrooms, working in both public and private school settings. Her focus on Positive Behavior Support in an Applied Behavior Analysis setting further deepened her expertise in inclusion and accessibility.

More recently, Britt directed multiple special needs summer day camps throughout Missouri, serving children with both physical and intellectual disabilities. She also led multi-day excursions designed to foster independence through recreation.

Now, Britt is thrilled to return to residential camping and eager to continue to expand Camp Chi’s inclusive community. New to the Chicago area, she’s excited for this next adventure with Camp Chi!
