What’s Happening Up at Chi

We are just three weeks away from supervisors arriving at Chi and a week away from the full-time team beginning their camp set up. However, if you were at Chi right now you would never know that the camp was still “empty.” On any given day we have 4-5 different major projects being worked on to make sure that this summer is the best one yet! Here are a couple highlights that you should all be excited about! 

New Pickleball Courts! 

This summer we are turning three more tennis courts into 12 more pickleball courts! Pickleball has quickly become one of the most popular athletics activities in camp. Because of this we frequently have kids waiting for a turn to play! No longer will there be any wait! We will now have enough courts for half a village to play at one time, so that everyone can learn and play together! We are so excited for this new addition! 

Commons Pavillion 

The commons pavilion is fully built and is currently being outfitted with lights and sound so that we can use it for any programs, movie nights, camp events, and anything else we can think of! 

New Amphitheater Seating 

The amphitheater seating has been lacking for the past few summers. It had run its course and it was time for a change! This summer we will have no more old wooden benches and instead will have recycled plastic benches that not only fit 300 more people (no more sitting off to the side) but will also be more comfortable, better looking, and will last forever! 

New Noar Cabins and Bathroom 

It seems like every year lately teen camp is growing and improving. This year is no different! This summer there are 6 brand new Noar cabins, and a big expansion of the back Noar bathroom. We cannot wait for the teen campers to see what it looks like this summer.  

Fishing Program and Water Skiing

The water activities at camp are always some of the favorites, and this year is no different! To expand our offerings even further we are adding fishing to the list of program offerings. Just this week we picked up 30 fishing poles and tons of new equipment. Not only this, by we also have a new ski boat that will be delivered in the next two weeks. This boat is bigger and better than any boat we have had before! So big in fact that we can fit a whole cabin on the boat at one time.  

With all this and more, we are getting more excited than ever to see everybody soon!
