Yom Kippur Reflections
The High Holidays, and Yom Kippur in particular, gives us a great opportunity to reflect. We are given the chance to look back over all our actions of the past year, whether right or wrong. We can think about whether we handled certain situations correctly, whether certain arguments were worth it, and if we always acted as the best versions of ourselves. In the end we are all human beings, so the answers to these questions may not always be “yes”.
Yom Kippur gives us a beautiful opportunity because as we have one eye looking to the past, we can also have one eye on the future. While looking at a situation that we may not have handled to the best of our abilities – maybe an argument with a friend, or a responsibility we didn’t fully carry out – we can also think about how we can be better in the future.
All we want is what is best for our Camp Chi Family. We are always trying our best to do what we can to help our campers, staff, and alumni. And as we are only human too, we know we can always do better. This Yom Kippur, as always, we are pledging to be the best versions of ourselves, and to provide the best care to our amazing Camp Chi Family.
Yom Kippur is a wonderful chance to think about how we all can be better. If we all act just a little bit better, think about the kind of world we can create around us, filled with Kindness, Community, and Respect.
