Camp Firefly is a co-ed, therapeutic overnight camp for campers ages 9-18 who have been diagnosed with social disorders, such as Social Anxiety, OCD, PDD, Asperger’s Syndrome, Non-Verbal Learning Disorder, and High Functioning Autism.
As a joint program with Jewish Child and Family Services of Chicago and Camp Chi, Camp Firefly is specifically designed for children who need more support in social situations to foster friendships and positive social interaction in a safe, supportive atmosphere. Daily schedules include therapeutic group activities with smooth transitions and appropriate time for breaks.
Campers live in small cabin groups and receive support from counselors trained in social communication disorders to ensure their experience is comfortable, fun and memorable.
Activities include art, ropes course, individual athletics, boating, performing arts, rock climbing, swimming, team sports and more.
