Atkins Family Health Center Construction Update
Back in early March of 2020, we shared that we would have a brand new health center for our 100th summer thanks to the generosity of Cathy and Edward Atkins, MD and the Foundation for Jewish Camp’s Yashar Initiative, funded by The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. We broke ground late last summer and want to share with you an update on the construction of the new Atkins Family Health Center.
As you can see from the photo above, the building is really coming together. The construction crew has made great progress! So far the exterior is nearly complete with all doors, windows, siding and facia installed. Inside the building, all rooms have been framed, plumbing and electrical have been roughed in, and insulation has been blown in the attic. Drywall has been hung and the first round of paint was applied just days ago. We have electricity and heat running in the building already, so the crews can continue to work through the winter. In the next weeks and months, the attention will shift move inside, with more painting and then focusing in on getting the fixtures installed, floors laid, interior doors installed, and more.
We are so excited to share this building with the Camp Chi Family starting this summer, and want to provide a time lapse of the construction to mesmerize everyone.
