February 2021 News from the Camp Chi Family
February may be the shortest month, but it is providing no shortage of reasons to celebrate the Camp Chi Family. With exciting endeavors, recognition of talents and skills, milestones and more, please join us in wishing everyone named below a hearty mazel tov!
We’d love to celebrate you too- if you have news to contribute, please submit it here.
We are thrilled to share that Katie Lightner, who has been the Chi Keshet site director for over a decade, and Ronnie Brock are engaged. We are so happy for both of you!
Looking for your fix of camp music? From the musical minds of Marc Luban and Spencer Sher comes a brand-new original single on February 17. Mark your calendars and be sure to check it out when it is released.
If you are at Indiana University, or even visiting Bloomington, we’d recommend you place an order from Trap Mike’s, a new late-night online food marketplace from Max “Juice” Himelstein and Misha Rekhter. These SITs of 17 are no strangers to business or being in the Chi News, as they previously went to DECA Nationals and placed in the top 10 in high school in the franchise business plan category. Is Trapper Mikes the next Chipotle? We wouldn’t put it past these guys. Good luck!
College decisions have continued to come in as Molly Kirsh (Miami University of Ohio), Ari Skolnik (Denison University), and Spencer Fleisher (Indiana University) have committed and are excited for their next chapter. We know you’ll all do great!
Already college students, we are so proud of Elana Redfern, who made Dean’s List at Arizona State University, Matt Sturt who was elected as the scribe for AEPi at Michigan State University, and Zachary Klein who was accepted into the aerospace engineering program at the Ohio State University. Nice work!
The future generation of Chi campers is growing as Ilya Karagodin and Michelle Sweetwood welcomed Dalia Sofia a few weeks ago. We are happy everyone is happy, healthy and big siter Liora is thriving in her new role. Mazel tov!
We are very proud of Ben and Jake Pomerantz who recently celebrated their b’nai mitzvah! We heard you did wonderfully!
Talk about being good at what you do- our own waterski director, Brandon Hults was featured in the USA waterski magazine, offering advice for cable kneeboarding and being featured in three photos (including the one above.) Way to go Brandon!
Have news to share? We want to hear all about it, so be sure to submit it here.
