News from the Chi Family

It looks like the new year will be a good one for the Camp Chi Family! We are starting off the new decade with a ton of news from college decisions, engagements, graduations, and so much more! So please join us in celebrating the Camp Chi Family and wishing everyone a collective mazel tov! If you have news to contribute, please submit it here.

Lucas Absler is a great counselor, a decorated gymnast, and so much more. Now he can add diving record holder to that list as Lucas recently broke the Highland Park High School diving record by more than 30 points. Way to go Lucas!

The Camp Chi Family is growing! Mazel tov to Susan and Parker (Gilman) Eisman on welcoming Ezra Julian! The photos are adorable, and we can’t wait to meet him!

We want to wish a hearty mazel tov to Alaina Liebman on her recent bat mitzvah! We heard you did great and had a wonderful celebration.

You’d better buckle up everyone! Brooke Robbins recently got her driver’s license and Katelyn Robinson who earned her learner’s permit. Nice work Brooke and Katelyn!

Love has been in the air, with the recent engagements in the Camp Chi Family! We are so happy for Jasmine Howard on her engagement to Jack Sharp, Harriot Pinion on her engagement to Peter Thomson, and Emily Levy who just got engaged to Kyle Buffin.

It’s been graduation season for many in the Camp Chi Family! Congratulations to Lora Kellie, Kasey Gallagher, Naomi Hallows and Max Moore on recently earning their master’s degrees!

The Wexner Foundation focuses on the development of Jewish professionals and volunteer leaders, and in partnership with the Jim Joseph Foundation, they have selected 15 professionals for the 4th class of the Wexner Field Fellowships. One of those fellows is Israel educator extraordinaire and Camp Chi alumna Ari Brickman. Mazel tov Ari!

Miles Evans reached his one-year work anniversary at Blackberry Market cafe in downtown Glen Ellyn. He got a glowing review and a raise! Keep up the great work Miles!

The SITs of 2010 hosted a wonderful camp reunion/Hanukkah party when the whole gang was back together! Thank you to Jori Wineburgh, Amanda Johnson, Jamie Horwitz, Becky Gerson, Annie Echales, Danielle Poteshman, Emily Rodheim, Sarah Garr, Alexa Winestock, Sydney Prystowsky, Lauren Mintzer, Abby Simon, Trudy Miller, and Jen Gelman for the photo. Keep that flame burning!

Camp Chi campers have been bringing home the gold this year as Spencer Paul won first place at his regionals climbing competition and Maxwell Strauss won 1st overall in his age group at a recent gymnastics competition and came in 1st place in all six events. Nice going guys!

Great photographer and one smart cookie- that’s one way to describe James Franks who earned a spot on the Bradley University Dean’s List last semester.

They’re only in high school for a  few more months and a number of them are ready to commit to a college! We are thrilled for Grace Kellie, Marlee Fradin, and Ally Kiwako (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), Julia Foster and Cailey Gross (Mizzou), Rebecca Kamensky and Liza Bluman (Indiana University), Julian “Pinto” Akiva (University of Iowa), Rebecca Alterson (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Quinn Yuter (Miami University of Ohio), Olivia Gork (Syracuse University), and David Brostoff (American University). We wish all of you nothing but success!

Have news to share?  We want to hear all about it, so be sure to submit it here.
