June 2021 News from the Camp Chi Family

As camp is less than a week away, we are eager to celebrate our 100th summer. But before we can do that, we need to celebrate the Camp Chi Family and all of your accomplishments! From weddings to babies, graduations and more, this month was full of celebrations and we love that. This will be our last Chi News until the fall, but as you have things to celebrate, be sure to submit it here, so we can celebrate you as well!
It takes a lot to be a village leader. You have to think on your feet while guiding a team of staff and group of campers through an unforgettable summer. And it takes some brains, which our own Matt Sturt has as he made Dean’s List at Michigan State this spring. Nice job Matt!
We are so proud of our recent b’nai mitzvot Arielle Liefer and Samantha Cohen who did beautifully on the bimah. Mazel tov!
We are so excited for Sophia Fine who is heading to Mizzou this fall for college. Speaking of Mizzou, Nicole Hults just graduated from there and is heading to Indianapolis for the next 2 years to train and teach 1st grade through Teach for America while earning her Masters in Education. We wish both of you endless success in your journeys!
Emma Preston, who will begin her SIT summer on Sunday is showing us that she is already a leader as she was elected Religion Education Vice President of CBS USY. Congrats Emma!
As featured in the photo above, Andrew Schoer (SIT ’09) recently tied the knot with Kathleen Sipe. Mazel tov!
Speaking of weddings, wedding bells are being heard by Eitan Fass , as well as Lauren Siegel and Matt Seiss who recently got engaged. Very happy for all of you!
There are some future Chi campers we cannot wait to meet as Jenny Silva welcomed Carmen Sofia Rosa Silva, Rebecca Meisels and Michael Oskin welcomed Asher Daveed, and Abbe Roth & Will Roth welcomed Landon Grant. We can’t wait to see these cuties at camp!
You’ve heard of Ruach Awards, but have you heard of the Awesome Attitude award? Avery Fox, following in her sister’s footsteps, recently earned that award from her Carmel Swim Club coaches. Way to go Avery!
Have news to share? We want to hear all about it, so be sure to submit it here.
