So Much to be Thankful For
One year ago, we were optimistic, but not certain we would be able to run in Summer 2022. Could you imagine, the 100th year of Camp Chi without camp? It sounds crazy, but a year ago it was a possibility with COVID numbers higher than when we were forced to forgo Summer 2020. Luckily, that scenario didn’t play out. Camp was filled with ruach as our centennial summer dreams came true!
Now, after one of the most memorable summers we’ve ever had, we can’t help but be extremely thankful for opportunities we’ve been given. First of all, we had camp- something we took for granted until 2020. Plus, we celebrated a milestone many in the camp world only dream of- making it to 100 years! And of course there’s the people; we welcomed back so many campers and staff, heard from families and alumni, interacting with countless amazing individuals. We are more than thankful for what we’ve been given as a camp, and we know that it is due to every single member of the Camp Chi Family.
As Thanksgiving (and soon after Hanukkah) come around, we wanted to take a moment to thank our community. Your support and belief in us, your unending love of Camp Chi, and the outpouring of Kavod, Chesed, and Kahilah you display all year long is what keeps us going. We are most thankful for the Camp Chi Family this Thanksgiving!
We continue to be thankful for the dedicated staff who made last summer possible, and the staff from Outdoor Cooking were some of the best in camp! With their help, we have prepared Camp Chi Outdoor Cooking Cookbook, converting the campfire favorites to make in your own kitchen. Many of the recipes in here are perfect for Thanksgiving (we’re already dreaming about the Campfire Apple Crisp). This cookbook is a great way to bring a little Camp Chi Magic to your Thanksgiving Table.
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you!
